Most people who take part end up staying in Barcelona or Valencia. There is a beautiful historical castle worth visiting. But basically the biggest draw for tourists is the Tomato. Throwing Festival. You may have seen the video before and wondered what the C Level Contact List point of this massive food fight was. Who came up with the idea of gathering thousands of people in a Spanish town to throw tomatoes everywhere? There is actually no concrete evidence of the event. How it originated. There are some theories though. One of the main reasons started is that the tomato sauce originated from a religious procession that went horribly wrong. The story goes that some young people started causing a disturbance during the march which caused an important participant to fall to the ground. A fight ensued. There happened to be a vegetable stall with lots of tomatoes. In a chaotic fight people started grabbing tomatoes and throwing them at each other. For whatever reason the town rekindles the tomato fight year after year. The event was banned several times during Spain's Franco dictatorship.
